How to give bone broth?

You can use YDOLO Bone Broth in various ways. For example, pour a small amount over regular kibble for extra flavor and moisture, offer the broth separately, or use it for enrichment.

Since the varieties consist of over 97% moisture, you can easily add extra hydration to your dog's intake. This can be useful for dogs who don't drink much on their own or when you want to offer some extra variety on warm days.

The broth is a supplement and not a substitute for fresh drinking water. Ensure your dog always has access to plenty of fresh water.

On a lick mat

Bone broth is also fun to combine with a lick mat. Spread a small amount over, for example, our Lick Mat Bean or use the bowl-shaped Lick Mat Laslo. You can then freeze the filled lick mat down to -20 °C.

This turns the same broth into a longer activity and provides a nice cold form of enrichment on warm days. You can also combine the broth with other suitable food on the lick mat.

Extra moisture with meals

Because bone broth largely consists of water, you can easily use it to add extra moisture to a meal. For example, pour a portion over dry kibble and let it be eaten immediately.

Consider bone broth as a tasty supplement to regular food. If your dog has actual problems with their fluid balance due to illness, vomiting, diarrhea, or another medical cause, please contact a veterinarian instead of just giving extra broth.

How much can you give?

YDOLO recommends limiting supplementary feeding to a maximum of 10% of the daily caloric needs. For a dog weighing approximately 10 kg, this means a maximum of one pouch per day according to nutritional advice. YDOLO advises ideally dividing one pouch over two or three days.

Also, consider the rest of the daily diet and any other snacks or supplements.

Storage

Unopened, the bone broth can be stored at room temperature.
Once opened, store in the refrigerator and use within 4 days.
Always use a clean utensil when taking a portion of the broth from the packaging and close the packaging tightly after use.
